The single-molded option is a more traditional double first base - without the double anchor. The white and orange bases are molded together as one unit. The white side attaches to our base plate and the underneath section of the orange side has small tacks that stabilize the orange section of the base.

The underside beehive design allows the base to compress upon impact, reducing sliding injuries while providing stability and support during regular play. The pebble-embossed, UV-resistant base top helps prevent slipping and spike puncture. Ground anchors, rubber stanchions, and base plugs are included.

... Chairman Brown gave the second award to Roger Hall, president of Rogers Sports Corp. of Elizabethtown, Pa., for his invention of the Rogers® BreakAway™ Baseball Base. As head baseball coach at Elizabethtown College, Hall saw that base-sliding injuries occurred to players at all levels - from Little League® baseball to professional. When he could not interest sporting goods manufacturers in making a safer base, he developed one himself.
